Zerista Atom Feeds

Zerista provides atom feeds for sessions, exhibitors, speakers, and tags (exhibitor and session) for all the conferences. Examples on how to access the atom feeds are given below. A conference website http://mybio2011.zerista.com supported by Zerista is used in the examples:

Atom feed for Speakers:

Speakers in mybio2011.zerista.com can be accessed here: https://mybio2011.zerista.com/speaker/1428119?owner=all&speaker_page=1

Appending “&format=atom” at the end of the above url will give an atom feed of speakers with 20 entries per page: https://mybio2011.zerista.com/speaker/1428119?owner=all&speaker_page=1&format=atom

Subsequent pages of the feed can be accessed by changing the value of the “speaker_page” parameter in the above url: https://mybio2011.zerista.com/speaker/1428119?owner=all&speaker_page=2&format=atom

More than 20 entries (or even less than) can be displayed on the page by appending the “&limit” parameter to the url above: https://mybio2011.zerista.com/speaker/1428119?owner=all&speaker_page=2&format=atom&limit=40 (A higher limit value would make the feed load slower in the browser.)

The fields present in the atom feed for each speaker are given below. Every speaker has an <entry> element in the feed and the fields given below are present within the <entry> element:

  • First name (<mb:first_name>. Child element of <mb:speaker>)
  • Last name (<mb:last_name>. Child element of <mb:speaker>)
  • Company (<mb:company>. Child element of <mb:speaker>)
  • Position/Title in the company (<mb:position>. Child element of <mb:speaker>)
  • Sessions
    1. Title (<mb:title>. Child element of <mb:session> which is a child element of <mb:sessions>)
    2. Session page on mybio2011.zerista.com (<mb:url>. Child element of <mb:session> which is a child element of <mb:sessions>)
    3. Session track (<mb:track>. Child element of <mb:session> which is a child element of <mb:sessions>)
  • List of tags (<mb:tag>. Child element of <mb:tags>)

If a speaker does not have a value for a field, that field does not appear within the <entry> element. For example, if a speaker does not have a company and position, the elements <mb:company> and <mb:position> will not show up within the <entry> element.

Atom feed for Sessions:

Sessions in mybio2011.zerista.com can be accessed here: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/event?event_order=start&event_page=1&owner=other&owner_id=193163

Appending “&format=atom” at the end of the above url will give an atom feed of sessions with 25 entries per page: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/event?event_order=start&event_page=1&owner=other&owner_id=193163&format=atom

Subsequent pages of the feed can be accessed by changing the value of the “event_page” parameter in the above url: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/event?event_order=start&event_page=2&owner=other&owner_id=193163&format=atom

More than 25 entries (or even less than) can be displayed on the page by appending the “&limit” parameter to the url above: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/event?event_order=start&event_page=2&owner=other&owner_id=193163&format=atom&limit=30 (A higher limit value would make the feed load slower in the browser.

The fields present in the atom feed for each session are given below. Every session has an <entry> element in the feed and the fields given below are present within the <entry> element:

  • Title (<title>)
  • URL to session page on mybio2011.zerista.com (<id>)
  • Start time (<gd:when startTime=”2011-06-25T11:30:00Z” endTime=”2011-06-25T23:30:00Z” />)
  • Finish time (<gd:when startTime=”2011-06-25T11:30:00Z” endTime=”2011-06-25T23:30:00Z” />)
  • Location (<mb:location>)
  • Track (<mb:track>)
  • List of tags (<mb:tag>. Child element of <mb:tags>)
  • List of speakers
    1. First name (<mb:first_name>. Child element of <mb:speaker> which is a child element of <mb:speakers>)
    2. Last name (<mb:last_name>. Child element of <mb:speaker> which is a child element of <mb:speakers>)
    3. URL to profile page in mybio2011 (<mb:uri>. Child element of <mb:speaker> which is a child element of <mb:speakers>)
    4. Type (<mb:type>. Child element of <mb:speaker> which is a child element of <mb:speakers>)

If a session does not have a value for a field, that field does not appear within the <entry> element. For example, if a session does not have a track, the element <mb:track> will not show up within the <entry> element.

Atom feed for Exhibitors:

Exhibitors in mybio2011.zerista.com can be accessed here: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/exhibitor?exhibitor_page=1

Appending “&format=atom” at the end of the above url will give an atom feed of exhibitors with 20 entries per page: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/exhibitor?exhibitor_page=1&format=atom

Subsequent pages of the feed can be accessed by changing the value of the “exhibitor_page” parameter in the above url: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/exhibitor?exhibitor_page=2&format=atom

More than 20 entries (or even less than) can be displayed on a page by appending the “&limit” parameter to the url above: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/exhibitor?exhibitor_page=2&format=atom&limit=30 (A higher limit value would make the feed load slower in the browser.)

The fields present in the atom feed for each exhibitor are given below. Every exhibitor has an <entry> element in the feed and the fields given below are present within the <entry> element:

  • Name (<title>)
  • URL to profile page on mybio2011.zerista.com (<id>)
  • URL to logo image on mybio2011.zerista.com (<mb:logo_uri>)
  • Address
    1. City (<mb:city>. Child element of <mb:address>)
    2. State (<mb:state>. Child element of <mb:address>)
    3. Country (<mb:country>. Child element of <mb:address>)
  • Booths
    1. Number (<mb:number>. Child element of <mb:booth> which is a child element of <mb:booths>)
    2. Pavilion (<mb:pavilion>. Child element of <mb:booth> which is a child element of <mb:booths>)
  • List of tags (<mb:tag>. Child element of <mb:tags>)

If an exhibitor does not have a value for a field, that field does not appear within the <entry> element. For example, if an exhibitor does not have any booths, the element <mb:booths> will not show up within the <entry> element.

Atom feed for Tags (Exhibitor and Session):

Exhibitors and sessions can be listed based on the tags/interests they have. For example, all exhibitors in mybio2011.zerista.com that contain the tag “Texas Pavilion” can be found here: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=Texas+Pavilion&target=11 . Similarly all sessions in mybio2011.zerista.com that contain the tag “BIO Exhibition” can be found here: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=BIO+Exhibition&target=9 . The “target” parameter in the above url’s holds a value 11 for exhibitors and 9 for sessions.

Appending “&format=atom” at the end of the above url’s will give atom feeds for exhibitors and sessions respectively with 20 entries per page:

http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=Texas+Pavilion&target=11&format=atom

http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=BIO+Exhibition&target=9&format=atom

Subsequent pages of a feed can be accessed by appending a paramter “tagged_page” to the above urls:

http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=Texas+Pavilion&target=11&format=atom&tagged_page=2

http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=BIO+Exhibition&target=9&format=atom&tagged_page=2

More than 20 entries (or even less than) can be displayed on a page by appending the “&limit” parameter to the url’s above:

http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=Texas+Pavilion&target=11&format=atom&tagged_page=1&limit=25

http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=BIO+Exhibition&target=9&format=atom&tagged_page=1&limit=25

(A higher limit value would make the feed load slower in the browser.)

The fields present in the atom feed for an exhibitor and a session can be found in the previous sections on this page (Atom feed for exhibitors and Atom feed for sessions).

NOTE: Exhibitors and sessions could be searched by more than 1 tag. For example, all exhibitors who have the tags “Texas Pavilion” and “Partnering Companies” can be found here: http://mybio2011.zerista.com/tag/match?tags=Texas+Pavilion,Presenting+Companies&target=11 . The tags are separated by comma.
